What is Port Replication?

Essentially, port replication is “mirroring” the ports of active fiber optic hardware in a passive component (fiber patch panel). This creates a direct relationship between the active hardware ports and the passive structured cabling environment, thus simplifying the cabling process as all numbers on the hardware directly correspond to the numbers on the patch panel.

Our free white paper, Passive Optical Port Replication in the Data Center, illustrates:

  • What port replication is
  • Why you should use port replication in your data center
  • How port replication can simplify cable management and moves, adds and changes
  • The challenges of proper port replication
