April marks CXtec’s annual ISO recertification. Wondering what the heck ISO is and what that means for our customers?
Let’s break it down!
ISO stands for the International Organization for Standardization, and CXtec is an ISO 9001:2008 certified company. Essentially, ISO is the largest developer of voluntary International Standards which give specifications for products, services and good practice.
All in all, this helps to make a business more proficient. It requires the development and implementation of a Quality Management System, and focuses on customer satisfaction and continuous improvement.
ISO was founded in 1947 and has issued over 19,500 International Standards covering almost all aspects of technology and manufacturing. With a central office in Geneva, Switzerland, ISO is a nongovernmental organization made up of members from the national standards bodies of some 160 countries, one per country, from all regions of the world, including developed, developing and transitional economies.
*Because 'International Organization for Standardization' would have different acronyms in different languages (IOS in English, OIN in French for Organisation internationale de normalisation), the founders decided to give it the short form ISO. ISO is derived from the Greek isos, meaning equal. Whatever the country or language, the short form is always ISO.*
ISO 9001 applies to all types of organizations, and can help both product and service oriented organizations achieve high standards of quality that are recognized and respected throughout the world. International Standards ensure that products and services are safe, reliable and of good quality.
For business, they are strategic tools that reduce costs by minimizing waste and errors, as well as increasing productivity, and they help companies to access new markets.
CXtec is committed to providing our customers with value-added technology and services while continually improving our people and processes. Being ISO certified is very important to us here at CXtec because it means we’re always ready and willing to offer the best solution for our customers. We hope this helps clarify what ISO is all about and how it differentiates CXtec and distinguishes us in the industry.
