Don't Think Cisco End-of-Life Announcements Mean It's Time to Panic

Earlier this year, we did a post to let you know when Cisco announced the dates that the Catalyst 3750G, 3560G, 3750-E, and 3560-E Series Switches were going end-of-life/end-of-sale.

The message we had that day is the same one we have now: Relax; there’s no need to panic. CXtec has been in this industry for a long time and we’ve helped thousands of customers maintain their current networking infrastructures by providing used Cisco hardware and our own maintenance program.

We’d like to compile a few thoughts for you about the Cisco end-of-life notice experience.

So what does Cisco end-of-life mean anyway?

There’s a lot of confusion out there about what Cisco end-of-life and end-of-sale announcements even mean in the first place. Basically, these notices just begin a series of steps leading to Cisco deeming products obsolete. This means they won’t sell or support them any longer. For a more detailed explanation, just check out this post.

That’s all well and good, but we can assure you that just because Cisco says a product is “obsolete,” doesn’t mean you can’t still acquire that product and keep it working for you. How do we know this? Because it’s what we do.

Cisco end-of-life notices do not signal end of the line.

When you work with a great refurbished hardware vendor, like CXtec, you have a number of options even after the products you rely on are announced end-of-life. You can still get high-quality, working technology, backed by a great warranty, with a maintenance option.

Check out this post where we explain in detail how a Cisco end-of-life notice is not the end of the line.

We don’t know the meaning of the word “obsolete.”

But we’re providing these links with a disclaimer: Just because you might find some technology that you still use in your infrastructure on these pages, don’t think you need to make a change. You can still get quality used Cisco technology and maximize your current investment. So don’t panic!

We even have an entire support program dedicated to providing you the Cisco end-of-life and end-of-sale products you rely on. You still have the power to decide when and how you want to upgrade your technology infrastructure.
