July 22, 2011 SYRACUSE - William G. Pomeroy was unanimously selected to the National Marrow Donor Program (NMDP) Board of Directors. Mr. Pomeroy, who will serve a two-year term, was also named as a member of the NMDP finance committee.

\"The NMDP board is of particular interest to me as I feel I can bring a unique combination of business expertise and personal passion both as a CEO and as a transplant recipient,\" said Mr. Pomeroy, who is founder and CEO of CXtec and TERACAI, two profitable sales and marketing companies, one of which has been in existence for 33 years.

Mr. Pomeroy is a leukemia survivor who recently celebrated the six-year anniversary of his successful stem cell transplant. This diagnosis in 2004 led to the establishment of The William G. Pomeroy Foundation, a private foundation with two areas of particular interest. One area focuses on historic preservation and research. The other focus area is to fund programs specifically related to blood cancers.

One such program is to conduct bone marrow drives in an effort to diversify the Be the Match Registry. Mr. Pomeroy\'s foundation has helped organize over 200 marrow drives and registered almost 8,000 people since 2007. The foundation has also developed several informative videos to help raise awareness of the need for bone marrow donors.

Mr. Pomeroy concluded, \"The mission of NMDP and the board is one of the very same missions I have in my life. We are striving toward the same end - to save lives; I would love to be able to help achieve that goal as a member of the NMDP team.\"
