equal2new Certification
At CXtec, we didn't become the world's leading supplier of pre-owned networking equipment
without good reason. All of our pre-owned products undergo a rigorous 10-step process to ensure
they're worthy of carrying our equal2new label. It's just one of the ways CXtec is committed to
maximizing the investment you've already made – and protecting it by always being there
with the products you want and the support you need.
10-Step equal2new Certification Process:
Step 1: Physical Inspection
The process begins at check-in with a complete physical inspection of every piece of hardware that arrives at the testing facility. Here, stringent electrostatic discharge (ESD) prevention methods are followed to protect equipment from potentially damaging static discharge. During inspection, any equipment that arrives in unacceptable condition is immediately rejected. A product may be rejected at any step along the way if it is not working properly, no matter how reputable the manufacturer. It has a long way to go to earn its equal2new seal.
Step 2: Barcode Assignments
After a physical inspection, each piece is assigned a unique barcode. This advanced inventory system will provide a tracking mechanism and comprehensive history of the product, not only throughout the remainder of the certification process, but long after the equipment has been integrated into its new environment. This code enables us to reacquaint ourselves in seconds with any equal2new product, making it easier to for our experts to answer your questions or offer help with troubleshooting.
Step 3: Internal Inspection
Once the equipment has been given a barcode, it is moved into our Testing Center. The first thing our experienced testers do is look under the hood and verify if the unit is at manufacturers' spec for DRAMM and FLASH. They also check to make sure no components have come loose.
Step 4: Diagnostic Testing
After the equipment passes internal inspection, our technicians continue the process by running it through the first of a series of extensive diagnostic tests. Each product is analyzed to ensure that it functions at the original manufacturer's specs. With more than 20 years of experience behind them, our experts are among the best in the business.
Step 5: Live Network Testing
If diagnostic tests confirm that a product meets the manufacturer's requirements, our live network testing confirms that a product will meet your requirements. In this step of the process, the product is installed in our testing facility -- where it is really put through its paces.
Step 6: Reset Configurations
During this stage, all previous configurations are wiped clean and the product is reset to original factory defaults. Rest assured - you'll never receive a product still configured with its previous owner's confidential information or passwords.
Step 7: Reconditioning
You won't find missing parts on equal2new products. Lost screw connectors, power supplies or rack mount hardware are replaced during this step of the process. On the way to earning equal2new certification, every piece of equipment is thoroughly cleaned, polished, and detailed.
Step 8: Final Quality Verification
Products that receive any modifications undergo a second set of diagnostic tests to make sure they're working properly and that they still hold up to manufacturer's specifications. Nothing is left to chance with equal2new.
Step 9: equal2new Certification
In the final quality control inspection, an expert evaluator reviews all the stages of the process. Just as all the other testers and inspectors have done before him (or her!), he (or she) electronically updates the barcode tracking information unique to that product. Finally, after passing more tests than the original manufacturer ever put it through, the hardware earns equal2new certification. The equal2new seal is your guarantee of reliable performance.
Step 10: Foam-in-Place Packing
Shipping can be tough on networking equipment. That's why we ship equal2new certified hardware carefully. Our Foam-in-Place packaging technology keeps equipment securely in place with a custom cushion. All of our equal2new products arrive at your company in perfect condition.
