How does CXtec provide the best value with our equal2new equipment? The equation is simple. We buy quality hardware from end-users; certify it as equal2new using the industry’s finest refurbishing process, then sell it at fantastic discounts off list to our customers.
Simple right? It is, but it mandates that the first step in the process is really the most important. It’s imperative we get our hands on quality used networking equipment and phones, so that we can relay that value on to our customers. That’s why we pay top dollar for all the used networking hardware we buy.
We need phones
As you can tell by the title of this blog, right now we’re looking especially for Nortel 1140E phones. But this certainly isn’t all we’re looking for. Here are few other models we’re out searching for right now:
3Com 102PE
Avaya 1603SW
Cisco 7941G

Here’s a message for all those IT professionals working in the education sector. How many times has this happened to you? You spend the spring and summer gearing up for those huge projects you had planned while the students are out. You do your research, you do your buying, you carry out your plan and everything goes off smoothly.
But then the students arrive back and you realize you’re a bit short on the technology you implemented. You need an extra couple switches, a few more wireless access points here and there, some more phones, the cabling to hook it all up…
It’s not a pleasant scenario. You did your research and spending based on the assumption that you had your bases covered. Now you have to come up with a little more budget money to get your technology platform where it needs to be. What do you do?
No Need to Panic
Take a bit of advice from The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy and don’t panic! Now is the time to put into action the best trump card you have in your hand – pre-owned networking and voice hardware!
At CXtec, we’re helping customers in this predicament all the time. And it’s usually right around late September/early October when they realize they have a problem. Education IT professionals this time of year are always looking for quality used networking hardware at a great price to help them get the capacity they need.
The good news is if you choose the right vendor, you can get stellar quality refurbished networking equipment you can rely on, at a price that will make you breathe a sigh of relief.
A Life Vest for Less
CXtec’s own equal2new certified pre-owned hardware is backed by a lifetime warranty with first year advance replacement and a 99.51% reliability rating, but it’s still up to 90% off list price. So you get quality you can trust, at the price you can fit into your budget.
In fact, we’re running great deals on our already low prices for equipment such as:
And this just scratches the surface of the great deals we’re offering right now.
The Solution is Out There
Don’t worry if you happened to forget a little bit of technology for those projects you completed recently. Quality used network hardware is really just a phone call away, and it can be just the solution you’re seeking. End-of-Life Cisco Hardware – What Are Your Options? – Frank Kobuszewski, the VP of CXtec’s Technology Solutions Group, wrote a blog post outlining options for end-of-life Cisco hardware. And the same day, Cisco announced some of their bread and butter switches are going end-of-life. We then wrote a blog post of our own to help customers understand the process and their options. Compelling material for everyone with Cisco hardware in their infrastructures.
Lately we’ve been fielding a number of questions about the differences between the Avaya 1600 Series, 4600 Series, and 9600 Series IP phones. Of course there are a litany of features that separate each series, and several models within each series. It’s really up to the user to determine which features he/she wants or needs in their business setting, and our specialists would be more than happy to help highlight these features.
What we’re referring to are those more technical differences between the series. With that in mind, we’ve assembled three main factors to help you better understand the system compatibility differences between Avaya IP phone series:
1. File Servers – Avaya 4600 Series telephones can use either TFTP or HTTP servers as file servers, for example, to download new phone firmware, upgrade script files, or settings files. The 1600 and 9600 Series can use either HTTP or TLS servers.
2. DHCP & SSON – This one is important! Avaya 4600 Series phones use Option 176 as the default DHCP Site Specific Option Number (SSON). The 1600 and 9600 Series phones use Option 242.
3. Avaya Communication Manager Release – Avaya 4600 Series phones are supported prior to Communication Manager Release 3.0. The 9600 and 1600 Series phones are not officially supported prior to Release 3.0.
Hopefully this helped give you a better understanding of several series of Avaya IP phones. We carry all the models of these phones, and we’d be glad to answer any questions about them you might have. Give us a call anytime to learn more!
We’ve supported Nortel Networks/Bay Networks/SynOptic customers for over 15 years, and we partnered with Nortel for over ten years as a Premium Advantage Partner. So we understood customers’ confusion and worry when Avaya acquired Nortel two years ago.
In the time since the acquisition, we’ve helped a vast amount of customers who built their infrastructures around Nortel maintain those infrastructures and keep their businesses running smoothly.
“Ok, now where can I get a Nortel switch when I need it?”
That’s a question we’ve heard asked numerous times. The answer is CXtec. Though the Avaya acquisition raised concerns about the future of Nortel switch availability, CXtec immediately committed to supporting Nortel switch and phone infrastructures through 2020 and beyond. We started our Nortel Continued Support Program to ensure that our Nortel customers had a partner by their side to maintain their investment in Nortel switches from today well into the future.
“I need that Nortel phone order fulfilled soon, not two months from now.”
Sound familiar? This is a sentiment we hear echoed all the time. We know it’s not enough to just tell you we can meet your Nortel phone needs, we also have to fulfill them in a timely manner. Here’s where we excel! We have over 10,000 individual SKU’s (20 million dollars’ worth) in stock and ready to ship today. So when we promise that we can get your Nortel phone order moving right away, we mean it.
“I need that Nortel switch / Nortel phone, but I can’t afford to spend a boatload on it!”
This might be the best news of all. Our equal2new® Nortel switches and phones cost up to 90% less than original list price. You get high-quality Nortel phones, switches and more, refurbished using the industry’s most stringent certification process, and backed by a lifetime warranty with first year advance replacement. It’s an outstanding way to get the best value in your Nortel phone and switch investment.
