In an article that appeared in the March 13, 2005 issue of the Syracuse Post Standard,
CXtec was recognized as the sponsor of Virtecx - the most successful student-run company in the
2004 Junior Achievement high school company program.
Virtecx, a 23-member student company, was selected over seven competitors based on the $6500 it generated from the sale of 415 hot drink kits and 188 novelty picture frames. Patricia Wilson, vice president for production of Virtecx, won the 25th annual Syracuse University Junior Achievement Scholarship, four years of full tuition worth at least $90,000. The announcement was made at the 39th annual Junior Achievement Futures Unlimited Banquet on Wednesday, March 9th at the Oncenter Convention Center in Syracuse.
Throughout the 16 week program, a dedicated team of CXtec employees advised the high school students through starting their own company including development of products or services, electing officers, selling stock, producing and selling their products or services, and company liquidation.
The article, titled "Liverpool senior is JA's main achiever," was written by Frank Brieaddy, a staff writer for the Post Standard.
